Services to the Research and Development community include:

• project evaluation and assessment
• project monitoring and review.

Chris Byrne has been involved in major government-commissioned strategic reviews of R&D for technical textiles in countries as diverse as Taiwan, Romania, Latvia, Turkey and France.

For several years, he was Technical Textiles Project Co-ordinator to the (former) UK Department of Trade and Industry with a remit to identify and facilitate collaborative projects between science and business. Many aspects of this work have continued on behalf of the UK Materials Knowledge Transfer Network.

Chris is currently undertaking monitoring of a number of collaborative projects supported by the UK Technology Strategy Board as well as reviewing a major Framework 6 project on behalf of the European Commission.

He has lectured and written widely on opportunities for advanced materials and manufacturing processes.
